It was worth risking my life to experience the people and amazing landscape of Vietnam. Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City are like night and day but both spectacular.
Equally amazing is how kind the people were to an American. After Agent Orange, a legacy of cancer and birth defects. As well as wiping out a generation. The numbers are sobering:
South Vietnamese Army – 223,748 killed / North Vietnamese Army – 1 million + killed/ Over 4 million Vietnamese civilians killed or wounded / US military lost 58,183 soldiers.
